Amie Flowers Shakespeare has both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Music with an emphasis in vocal performance, history and literature. Ignited by the convergence of Arts and Education, Amie worked in operations and outreach for regional Arts organizations in the United States and Australia before receiving her PK-12 postgraduate license in vocal and choral music education.
Ms. Shakespeare is an American Center for Elemental Music and Movement Beacon Scholar. Her classes are inspired by personal respect for and training in ethnomusicology, Orff-Schulwerk, Project Zero and Montessori approaches to education.
At MPSA, Ms. Shakespeare leads the Music Department, is a member of the Resource Team and facilities the Critical and Creative Thinking Team. In the region, Ms. Shakespeare performs professionally as a soprano soloist and choral section leader. At home, Ms. Shakespeare is the doting parent of 3 adult, fully launched children.
