My name is Megan Kain, and I am so excited to be joining MPSA in the Fall! Before we get to formally meet, I would love to tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in north Louisiana and graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. I moved to the Washington, DC metro area with my husband in 2011, and I fell in love with the Montessori method while working as an assistant teacher in a private Montessori school. I decided to pursue a Montessori credential and attended Northern Virginia Montessori Institute and received my full Early Childhood Credential from the American Montessori Society in 2014. In 2017, I decided one credential wasn’t enough and went back to school for another one! In 2018, I completed coursework under the guidance of Barrie Institute for Advanced Montessori Studies, and I received my Infant/Toddler Credential from the American Montessori Society.
When I am not teaching or learning, I do enjoy snuggling with my dog, Simba, reading, scrapbooking, painting, and perfecting my photography skills. I also love traveling with my husband, and we love watching football in the fall. My husband and I have a new favorite activity, however. We welcomed our first son into the world in November 2019, and he has become our new favorite person to hang out with.
