Mandy Downs (Primary Teacher)

Mandy Downs has dedicated her career to early education. Her journey began in 2007 when she received her American Montessori Society (AMS) infant and toddler credential. She later went on to receive her AMS primary credential and earn her M.Ed. from St. Catherine University in Montessori Education. Mandy joined APS in 2020 (Jamestown Montessori) and the MPSA staff in 2022. In 2023, Mandy earned her doctorate in educational leadership. Mandy’s research contributions include action research entitled The Effects of Frontloading Vocabulary to English as a Second Language Learners and Equitable Access to Montessori Education: A Case Study. Mandy is a Michigan native but has lived (and taught) in Florida, Georgia, Italy (Rome) and Virginia. Mandy has three daughters; two who proudly graduated from APS and one who is on her way!
