Heather Barbour (Art Teacher)

Heather has had a lifelong love of the arts. Originally from Minnesota, Heather attended UNC Chapel Hill and Savannah College of Art and Design, and graduated with a degree in fine arts. She had a diverse career in Atlanta, as a pediatric nutritionist, painter, illustrator and graphic designer. She has lived in this area since 2008, first teaching Art in Alexandria and then in DC, where she was with the Fillmore Arts Program (DCPS). She has been with APS for four years, teaching Visual Art at both the middle and elementary levels. Heather lives with her husband Tom and two cats (brother and sister) Josh and Erica. Away from teaching she enjoys her own art projects, walks near Great Falls and riding her bike.
